Annual New York Ball Returns to Raise Record $2.1 Million

On Friday, April 8, Venice enthusiasts from around the world came together at Cipriani South Street to celebrate 50 years of saving Venice. A record $2.1 million was raised for the mission through the support of sponsors BVLGARI, Oscar de la Renta, and Select Aperitivo, the inimitable leadership of ball Chair Lauren Santo Domingo and her husband Andrés, the generous Co-Chairs and Host Committee members, the Young Friends of Save Venice, and so many more. Grazie to all who helped us reach this new milestone for the 50th Anniversary event.

The evening’s theme of Incantesimo al Mare–Enchantment by the Sea–was brilliantly brought to life by Bronson Van Wyck and Van Wyck & Van Wyck who transformed the waterfront venue into an enchanting, seaside daydream with a shell-encrusted bar, Venetian flags, mooring poles, and a 10-foot tall shell reminiscent of Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, which guests ascended to take photos, transporting them to the magnificent winding calle and canals of Venice. After cocktails, dinner, and a special presentation honoring Lauren Santo Domingo, a dance party hosted by the Young Friends of Save Venice kicked off to the tunes of DJ Olivier Meiji who sported the 21/22 Venezia FC fourth shirt to benefit Save Venice.
