Save Venice corporate supporter Ferretti Group hosted Elton John in Venice at Il Gran Teatro La Fenice on December 19, 2023. The once-in-a-lifetime private event was organized exclusively for Ferretti Group’s clients on the 20th anniversary of the opera theater’s re-opening in December 2003 following the disastrous fire that occurred in 1996.

Save Venice was prominently recognized as the evening’s cultural partner, and Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi thanked Save Venice “for preserving the city the way it should be for the next thousand years.” Alberto Nardi, Save Venice Vice-President and President of Save Venice–Italia who represented the organization at the event said, “Water is the powerful element that has shaped the history of Venice and the safeguarding of this wonderful city is intertwined with the delicate balance between the sea and its artistic heritage. Ferretti’s shared connection with the sea and affection for Venice fostered this fitting partnership with Save Venice, and we extend our gratitude to the Ferretti Group for their support.”

In 1997, Elton John also performed for Save Venice’s benefit concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, which raised funds for the reconstruction of the Teatro La Fenice.
