Columbia University PhD candidate Sophia D’Addio was awarded a five-month fellowship in the Rosand Library & Study Center (RLSC) during the 2018–2019 academic year thanks to a generous grant from Randa and K.C. Weiner. On the occasion of the Library’s 4th anniversary in June 2019, Ms. D’Addio presented a lecture, From Silence to Sound: Painted Organ Shutters in Motion.
Francesca Dalla Nese, a recent graduate of Università Ca’ Foscari, is currently completing a five-month Restoration and Conservation Technologies internship in Save Venice’s Venice office before attending graduate school this fall. Alberto Brunello, a graduate student at Università Ca’ Foscari, is completing his Master’s degree in Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities and is writing his thesis on Save Venice entitled Non-profit management: Save Venice Inc. A Case Study. Alberto also volunteers at Save Venice events and in the Rosand Library & Study Center.
Thanks to the generosity of The Frank Family Foundation, the Save Venice internship for students at Lafayette College continued for the ninth consecutive year with Tori Schoen and Morgane Pichard in an eight-week internship in the Venice office and RLSC from May–July 2019.
With the help of the fellows and interns, the Rosand Library is offering new public drop-in hours during the busiest summer months of June and July. The drop-in hours will resume from September through November, Tuesday through Thursday, from 1–5:00pm.
Save Venice extends its gratitude the aforementioned students and scholars for their enthusiastic support of our mission.
