Young Friends Partnered Event with Magazzino Italian Art
Join Save Venice in partnership with Magazzino Italian Art for a special presentation on the gallery’s exhibition Carlo Scarpa: Timeless Masterpieces. Save Venice Young Friends Steering Committee Member Laura Day Webb will join Sara Blumberg and Jim Oliveira, Founders and Directors of Glass Past, in conversation to discuss life and work of the Murano Glass artist.
Jim Oliveira and Sara Blumberg founded Glass Past in New York in 1995. They are private dealers and consultants in the field of Italian glass, specializing in work from 1870 to 1970, and are among the most active and respected experts in the field. Sara and Jim primarily serve private collectors and travel extensively to find the best and most important examples from their original years of production. Additionally the partners work as consultants with auction houses, individuals, architects and designers, as well as public and private institutions wishing to build collections both large and small. Glass Past has been featured in the New York Times, New York Magazine, Town & Country, Fortune, Worth, Antiques Magazine, Art & Antiques, and Art & Auction among other publications.
Laura Day Webb holds a Master’s in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and is Director at High Line Nine Galleries in Chelsea. In addition, Laura is the Content Manager for Friend of the Artist, whose volumes juried by art world insiders showcase the work of selected emerging artists from across the globe. Laura is also the Development Officer for Patron Circle and Gifts at The Immigrant Artist Biennial whose next iteration takes place in the fall of 2023 and focuses on immigrant and first-generation artists living and working in the US. Alongside her roles, Laura is an independent curator and art consultant whose practice focuses predominantly outside the Western canon on artists who have historically been overlooked and underrepresented. She is a member of the Young Friends of Save Venice Steering Committee.
