Join curator John Marciari for a private view of his exhibition Spirit and Invention: Drawings by Giambattista and Domenico Tiepolo at the Morgan Library & Museum. With over eighty drawings supplemented by a number of oil sketches and small paintings, this exhibition surveys nearly a century of work by the Tiepolo family, ranging from Giambattista’s earliest drawings to Domenico’s beloved late Punchinello series. Combining highlights from the Morgan’s collection with carefully selected loans, this exhibition provides a comprehensive look at the Tiepolos’ creative process while also presenting key new discoveries about their work.
Led by Dr. John Marciari, Charles W. Engelhard Curator, Head of Department of Drawings and Prints, and Curatorial Chair at the Morgan Library & Museum, New York.
