Restored in 1987 with Save Venice general funds.

History

Little is known about the artist Natalino da Murano, who was active in Venice between the 1530s and 1550s; he worked in the studio of Titian, yet few of his works survive. The influence of Titian can be seen in Natalino’s lunette for the church of San Salvador, located in the left transept; the work depicts God the Father at the moment in which he enters the human realm through the Incarnation, here symbolically represented through the presence of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and the dove of the Holy Spirit.
